Roll-Off Dumpster Sizes Side by Side
The four sizes step up in wall height and weight allowance, and the table puts the box dimensions next to the national cost and weight ranges. Dimensions are outside measurements published by CustomTruck, a roll-off truck and container maker. Weight and price come from Dropcurb and describe the national market, not Port Charlotte quotes.
| Size | Outside dimensions (L x W x H) | Weight usually included | National range (7 days) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 yard | 12 ft x 8 ft x 3.5 ft | 1 to 2 tons | $250 to $450 |
| 20 yard | 22 ft x 8 ft x 4 ft | 2 to 3 tons | $300 to $550 |
| 30 yard | 22 ft x 8 ft x 6 ft | 3 to 5 tons | $400 to $700 |
| 40 yard | 22 ft x 8 ft x 8 ft | 4 to 6 tons | $500 to $900 or more |
Boxes differ a little between haulers, so we confirm the container and its measurements when you order.
Choosing a Size for Your Port Charlotte Job
Each size has its own page with the jobs it suits, the weight math and a short FAQ.
10 yard dumpster in Port Charlotte
The 10-yard is the smallest box, and its 3.5-foot walls let one person carry items over the side. It suits a garage, a bathroom or a pile of dense material. See the 10 yard dumpster page.
20 yard dumpster in Port Charlotte
The 20-yard handles a kitchen gut, a flooring tear-out or an average roof, and CustomTruck calls it the most popular size. It fits most Port Charlotte driveways. See the 20 yard dumpster page.
30 yard dumpster in Port Charlotte
The 30-yard takes a whole-house cleanout, a garage teardown or an addition. Its 6-foot walls hold far more than the 20-yard, though you cannot toss items over them. See the 30 yard dumpster page.
40 yard dumpster in Port Charlotte
The 40-yard is for large demolition, lot clearing and commercial work, and it needs room for the truck. See the 40 yard dumpster page.
Work is performed by independent professionals.
How Weight Moves the Size You Choose
Heavy debris uses up the weight allowance well before it fills the container. Dropcurb reports that shingles, dirt and concrete trigger tighter tonnage caps and faster overage charges. The Charlotte County Landfill charges $49.88 per ton for waste generated in the county, so a 2-ton load costs $99.76 to tip and a 6-ton load costs $299.28 at that rate. Those are landfill charges, not our prices. For dense jobs we step down a size and keep the load within the allowance.
